Mold Damage Spread in Closet

Mold damage at this Cleveland home started in the usual way- with water damage. When the residents of this home returned after a two-week vacation, they discovered this mold infestation in their closet. A mold colony can get a foothold in two to three days, so the two weeks was plenty of time to develop what is pictured. The family was referred to SERVPRO of Bradley County by a friend who had experience with us. The first thing we needed to do was build a containment area to prevent mold spores from traveling throughout the house while we mitigated the damage. We then cleaned the mold with SERVPRO products and procedures. To complete the job, we used air movers and dehumidifiers to dry the area so mold would not grow again.
